SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES & SMALL GROUPS
Sunday School meets for children, youth, and adults from 9:30-10:30a.m.

Coupled in Christ (meets in room G5) is a new Sunday School class for engaged and newly married couples who are seeking to grow in faith and friendship. This class meets down stairs in the main building in G-05 – the reception area outside Dr. Hurley’s office from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Don and Kristy Miley will facilitate this class. Discovery (meets in Small Dining Room) is a four week class for prospective members of SHPC offered by the Membership Unit. It is held every other month. Led by Fred & Carol Rogers (fredcarolrogers@aol.com) & Dr. Jim Truesdell (jtruesdell@southhighland.org)
Making a Home for Faith (meets in Minister’s Conference Room) is a class for younger adults with young children or even without children. It is presently studying, Elizabeth Caldwell’s book, Making a Home for Faith: Nurturing the Spiritual Life of your Children. Facilitators: April Harrell and Rachel Wilkinson .
Christian Family Living (meets in room G16) is a men’s and women’s class, ages 30-ish to 60-ish, for those seeking to apply scripture to everyday living. Led by Larry Harper (larronc@aol.com). Presently studying II Peter.
New Covenant Group (meets in the Parlor) is an active group of families with younger children who meet at 9:45 on Sunday Mornings. Presently studying The Lasting Words of Christ - the Words and Parables of Jesus. Led by Carol Ann Cross.
Family Foundations (meets in the Small Dining Room) - Members of this class generally have school-age children. Focus is on Bible topics to current topics. Facilitator: Cathie Bonner (cbonner@therpysouth.net)
Wayfarers (meets in G22) is a contemplative/centering prayer classes open to all who would like to spend the Sunday School hour in prayer and contemplation. This class is designed so that each class stands on its own therefore welcoming drop-ins to join in prayer on any given Sunday. Led by Mary Price (jprice3280@aol.com) and Susan Hammack.
The Upper Room (meets in room G-15) is a men’s and women’s class designed to explore the various teachings that lead us deeper into our relationship with Christ. Presently studying, Stepping Stones of the Steward, A Faith Journey Through Jesus’ Parables”.
WannaBe’s (meets in room G14) is a class for women of all ages, with study, prayer, and lively discussion. Facilitator: Sue Keith (lsuekeith@yahoo.com).
The Dobyns’-Builder’s Class (meets in the Builders Classroom) is a men’s and women’s class of middle-to-senior adults. Currently studying the Encounter Bible study for adults. Facilitator: Gail Hardy (gmhardyl@bellsouth.net)
Market Place People (meets in room G9) is a class that focuses on fellowship and Bible Study. Led by Dr. Charles Fowler (cfowler@lawsonstate.edu). Presently studying Lesser Known Characters in the Bible.
The Leadership Class (meets in room G21) is a long-established, lively group of adults undertaking various study topics. Led by class members. Presently studying the Encounter Bible study for adults. Facilitator: John Golf (jhngolf@aol.com).
Inquirers (meets in room G17) is a class that invites people of all ages and backgrounds for Bible-focused studies. Facilitators: Leland & Mary Keller (kellers@myexcell.com).
OTHER CHRISTIAN ENRICHMENT OPPORTUNITIES
B.R.I.C.K. at [Sunday] Nite meets in room G21 at 6:15 p.m. This class is for twenty something’s who enjoy fellowship, study and “digging a little deeper.” Led by Rev. Jim Truesdell (jtruesdell@southhighland.org).
Monday Men’s Breakfast meets at Arby’s in Homewood at 6:30 a.m. each Monday for Bible reading, prayer and
fellowship. Led by Keith Williams.
Men’s Church Wide Breakfast is on the 2nd Monday of each month. The group meets at SHPC for a church wide
breakfast and speaker in the Small Dining Room at 6:30 a.m. Led by Keith Williams.
Tuesday Men’s Breakfast Group meets at Demetri’s Bar-b-que in Homewood each Tuesday at 6:30 a.m. Led by
Larry Harper.
Wednesday Ladies Bible Study meets every Wednesday in the Parlor at 10:00am. This is a group where women of all ages gather to sustain each other in study and prayer. Presently studying Couples of the Old
Testament. Led by Rev. Susan Laney (slaney@southhighland.org).
Provocative Churchis a class that meets on the second and fourth Wednesday from 6:30 -7:30 p.m. in the Parlor. The class will be facilitated by a variety of gifted leaders including Larry Michael and other members of the Evangelism Team. For more information, contact Larry at bamaterp@yahoo.com.
WOW Women’s Bible Study meets every Thursday in the Small Dining Room at 9:30 a.m. Mothers with young children gather each week for a time of study and prayer. Childcare provided. Led by Laura Chapman (lllchapman@aol.com).
Friday “Wild At Heart” Men’s Breakfast Group is an intergenerational group of men that meet Friday mornings for prayer and study at 6:30 a.m. at Davinci’s Pizza (yes, they serve breakfast) on 2707 18th Street in Homewood. This fall we are going to look at Scripture and the Authority of God: How to Read the Bible Today by N.T Wright. The goal is to recover a faithful way of reading and applying the Bible in a way that
